The Future of SharePoint Will Be Bigger than SharePoint
Keynote presented by Mike Fitzmaurice - Nintex
SharePoint (in the cloud or on-premises) may be the centre of our universe, but it's a big universe. Modern business solutions can and will draw on people both inside and outside your company. They make use of content, services, and data from other parts of Office 365 and other Software-as-a-Service offerings. Who controls the money is changing, and who builds the solutions is changing, too; they'll be built not only by professional developers, but by what Gartner calls "citizen developers" using what Forrester calls "low-code tools". IT management and development are about to get a lot more interesting, and more people are going to be involved. The good news is that there's a payoff from all of this disruption, and what you should do — and where SharePoint becomes more important than ever — is actually quite clear.
Mike Fitzmaurice is the Vice President of Workflow Technology for Nintex, and is its subject matter expert and chief spokesperson for workflow, business transformation, and technology evangelism. Prior to Nintex, he spent 11 years at Microsoft, and was involved with every version of SharePoint from pre-2001 through the 2010 release. His areas of expertise include process automation, integration, collaboration, and a lot of other “ation”s.
Be sure to join us for #SharePint, a SharePoint Community tradition happening on Friday, March 11th at 8pm at Tap and Barrel Convention Centre. Everybody is welcome to come down and engage with some of the speakers and sponsors! Huge thank you goes to K2 for sponsoring this event!
