Governance in the Modern Workplace: SharePoint, OneDrive, Groups, Teams, Flows, and PowerApps
Level: 200
Track: IT Pro
The number of services end-users have under their fingertips in Office 365 has been dramatically growing, and there are just a minimum number of hurdles stopping end-users to go completely wild with all these options.

This means the amount of digital data that is being stored in Office 365 and company processes that touch Office 365, has been ever-increasing and organizations and IT professionals are struggling to keep up to govern the data.

In this session, we are going to dig deep in order to discuss best practices for governing such a system, what are some of the typical use cases and scenarios and typical pitfalls with governance. We are going to review what kind of reports and tools are available at our disposal as part of the built-in Office 365 offering, and when to use the programmable approach to automate governance.
Governance is Not An Option
Level: 100
Track: Business / Management, IT Pro, Power User, End User
Random things we all typically hear when it comes to Governance…
· Not on top of the list right now
· Not in the budget
· We’ll get to it later
· Not really seeing the need…

I have yet to hear 1 valid reason as to why Governance should not be completed, maintained, or approved in budgets.  Governance really is not an option in any organization if you want your processes and procedures followed by employees.  Each time I have been involved in a project where governance was put on the back burner there have been issues with not knowing what other departments processes were, building themselves into a corner, not meeting service level agreements, and the list goes on and on.  If there is no one source of truth in how all the functions of the business run, how are you ever going to build a solid foundation and keep it running at the level it needs to run so that your organization can be successful?  In this session we will review what governance is, how it can be useful, how you can get started, maintain it, and most importantly how to get it approved!

What is Common Data Service and how to use it to build advanced Business Solutions?
Level: 200

The Microsoft Common Data Service (CDS) is the Azure-based storage mechanism for the all entire Microsoft business application platform including Dyamics 365. The most intuitive use case for the CDS is to provide an easy to use relational database for PowerApps. App Creators can use the CDS to model their data and easily share apps created on that data. CDS aims to provide much more than storage, it also provides definitions for common business entities as well as integration capabilities for importing data from multiple sources. With data sourced across the enterprise, businesses can drive insights and actions using PowerApps, Power BI, and Microsoft Flow based solutions.
During this session we will build a Business Solution containing PowerApps Canvas and Model-Diven Apps and a Microsoft Flow in a single solution easy to deploy.
