Utility Pole Inspection App: Unpacking a Practical Solution Leveraging PowerApps, SharePoint, Flow and Azure ML
Level: 300
Track: Developer
In this 1 hour presentation-with-demo attendees will see how Azure's Cognitive Services and/or Machine Learning Services can be used together with PowerApps and SharePoint and Flow to quickly create an innovative AI-powered solution which could be used by Field Engineers to quickly inspect and assess (and REPORT) the condition of damaged utility poles.

Attendees will see how SharePoint lists & libraries continue play relevant roles as numeric and image repositories which are readily accessed by PowerApps, Flow and Azure Cognitive Services.

Attendees will also see how PowerApps can tap directly into the GPS & camera features of common mobile "smart" phones to capture images, pass them up into a SharePoint Picture library, then see how Flow can be used to pass those images (in REAL-TIME) into Azure Cognitive Services (or a custom Machine Learning Predictive Model) and have human-readable assessments describing that pole's condition as "Green" (ok), "Yellow" (watch closely) , "Orange" (needs attention ASAP) and "Red" (need attention IMMEDIATELY), so that field engineers can work quickly, and their central command can ALSO work quickly to accurately assess and triage a region impacted by a severe event.

Again, this presentation will also demonstrate how SharePoint, PowerApps and Flow can empower PowerUsers in an organization to quickly create enterprise-class solutions with MVC patterns at their foundation.

What is Common Data Model and how to use it?
Level: 100
Track: IT Pro, Developer, End-User
The Microsoft Common Data model (CDM) is the Azure-based storage mechanism for the Microsoft business application platform. The most intuitive use case for the CDM is to provide an easy to use relational database for PowerApps. App Creators can use the CDM to model their data and easily share apps created on that data. CDM aims to provide much more than storage, it also provides definitions for common business entities as well as integration capabilities for importing data from multiple sources like SharePoint Online and On Premises. With data sourced across the enterprise, businesses can drive insights and actions using PowerApps, Power BI, and Microsoft Flow based solutions.
