Coding Your First Remote Hosted App from Inside the Corporate Firewall

The SharePoint app model was introduced as a way for organizations to develop custom solutions for SharePoint but not have code tightly coupled to SharePoint server side code. This new pattern for SharePoint solutions enable developers to push code to SharePoint on premises or SharePoint online and use a consistent set of API calls. This session will look at what is required to push a remote hosted SharePoint app inside the firewall to Office 365. During the session, we will build an MVC app from the ground up and show the step by step process to publish a corporate app to your online SharePoint instance. We will cover core concepts around authentication, app permissions, data access, and API calls from inside the firewall as well as limitations of the app model. This session is targeted towards developers who want to learn more about remote hosted apps but no app model experience is necessary.
