“Amateur Development” is Not for Amateurs
Level: 100
Track: IT Pro, Developer, Business
Call it “Solution Building”, “Citizen Development”, “Low-Code/No-Code”, or any other term you’d like. But it’s not just coming – it’s already here. And SharePoint is ground zero for it. Some find it empowering, while others find it frightening. Some companies embrace it, while others (both users and IT) try to suppress it. Well, it need not be chaos. It can even complement professional development very nicely. Not surprisingly, leadership, education, and coordination are the keys. We’ll talk about which business problems best fit this type of work, which types of tools suit it most nicely, which techniques fit this approach, and how to best govern it.

GDPR Compliant Journey to the Cloud and why Hybrid is the new normal
Level: 200
Track: Business
Microsoft has published a lot of assets and resources around GDPR over the last days, weeks and months. Let`s take time and have a closer look how they can help you and your customers to improve GDPR readiness and compliance. We are going to talk about topics we want to improve and which supporting assets are still missing, sending feedback to Microsoft later. A different look is going to help to understand which GDPR tools, assessments and products (Office 365 out-of-the-box and 3rd Party) can help to fill these gaps which were identified in this session.

Implement best practices with Office 365 Groups
Office 365 Groups is one of the best ways to drive adoption of your Office 365 environment. Groups provide a single identity for teams across the different applications in Office 365, however, like any solution, you’re not going to be successful unless you understand how Groups work, how to manage them and how to implement and govern their use. This session provides Office 365 Groups best practices based on real work examples. Topics include: planning Office 365 Groups introduction, implementing self-service while protecting corporate assets, the impact on active directory and on Azure Active Directory, useful PowerShell cmdlets to manage them at scale, security around groups, and more!

IOT-gesteuerte Prozessautomatisierung in O365 eingebettet
Level: 200
Track: IT Pro

Level: 200
Track: IT Pro, End-User, Business

Abstract:

Level: 200
Track: IT Pro
Wir sind mittendrin im digitalen Zeitalter. Eigentlich.

Modern News Publishing with SharePoint
Level: 200
Track: End-User, Business
One of the key features of SharePoint has always been news publishing. Whether you’d be using the simple announcement lists or the more advanced publishing infrastructure with its page layouts, there have always been news-sharing scenarios that we built on top of SharePoint. And now there is a “modern” way of news publishing.

In this session, we will dive into the different options the new modern SharePoint provides us for news sharing. Of course, there are the modern team sites, with their news publishing features, but only a few months ago, Microsoft released the modern successor of the classic publishing infrastructure as well. What are the differences between these options? When would you choose what? And where does the SharePoint mobile app come in to play when we talk about news publishing?

All these questions will be answered, and more! We’ll also dive into customising your news publishing experience. We’ll cover a bit of branding, look & feel, but also roll-up features like showing the latest news articles or the most popular ones. And of course we’ll be demoing all of the features too.
Myth-busting GDPR in Office 365
Level: 200
Track: Business
The GDPR highlights the need for protection of personal data held by organizations. To be able to do this Microsoft invested a lot in new features and functions like the Compliance Manager, the Office 365 Security & Compliance Center or the GDPR Assessment Toolbox. Most sessions are done by lawyers talking about the law perspective or held by IT professionals talking about the IT perspective. This session is about IT and Solution architecture but focusing on the law perspective of GDPR.
The session provides an overview about the topics we have to respect and which Office 365 & Azure features can be used to fulfill the regulation. In addition, we talk about some myth-busting like for example: “What commission proposals on data protection DO and DON'T mean” or “The Court of Justice of the EU and the Right to be Forgotten”

Organisational Considerations for Customising SharePoint and Office 365

Standard software undergoes rigorous testing before releasing. Organisations often customise standard software to meet their specific needs and add more value to their business. Unfortunately, they are often unaware of risks that customisations introduce. Benefits of Attending this Session:
1.    Know the different ways how to customise SharePoint
2.    Understand the up and downsides
3.    Understand what a simple Customisation Governance Plan for SharePoint and Office 365 looks like

We are moving to the cloud, what about security
Level: 200
Track: Business
A lot of companies are moving to Office 365 but is this cloud secure? It is a common question that is asked a lot. This question is a lot bigger then the tools and controls Microsoft delivers with their platform. It is the way that we look at security in a broader spectrum.

With this session, we take a look at the security aspects that the Microsoft Cloud delivers en what Microsoft does to keep it secure. But it is not only Microsoft that needs to give you the controls, it is also about how your employees handle security and how you can help them.

Work Together
You are trapped in on-prem environments with InfoPath forms, SharePoint Designer customizations and custom code? Here is the way out.
Level: 100
Track: End-User, Business
We are witnessing that transition to cloud, or even to newer versions of SharePoint Server for that matter, is in far distance for many SharePoint installations, due to the legacy customizations accumulated over the years. May it be custom InfoPath list forms or Form Libraries, Access Services apps, SharePoint Designer custom list forms and workflows, or plain simple custom development on top of SharePoint, they all are holding the companies back in the tech of 2000s. Additional to that, most of those tools are either fully deprecated, or are getting deprecated as we speak – in best case, you’ve got some prolonged support. Adis Jugo, software architect, Director of Product Technology at skybow, and Microsoft MVP for Office Servers and Services and for Office Development, and one of the most renowned industry experts in creating and managing solutions on top of SharePoint, is going to guide you through comprehending this problem, and to discuss the ways (and yes, the tools!) getting out of this “legacy trap” we are witnessing at the moment.
